Won't be making it to the Fairmont tonight. Finally arrived in Nice. Huge queue for taxis. Bloody cash point has refused one of Zoe's cards. The strange world of international backgammon requires lots of cash in a multitude of currencies and we are always too busy/disorganised to get any in advance and so rely on drawing out money from ATMs on several different cards. Still, at least.we have enough euros to get to Monaco. If I remember rightly it is about an hours drive to Monte Carlo. I think play starts at a reasonable hour tomorrow so we should get a decent amount of sleep. But still not the ideal way to start my assault on the backgammon crown.
