Revisiting my blunder from yesterday...

One of the great things about being in Monte Carlo is the opportunity to talk to World Class players about positions.

I posted this position yesterday...



After dinner last night I had the opportunity to talk to Falafel, Matt Cohn Geier and a few others about it.

The correct play is 23/20 2/1* by quite a bit.

Fortunately I was in good company with my blunderous play of making the 5-point as Falafel said this was his 0-ply move too.

Making the 5-point is wrong by over 100 on XG+ evaluation.

I learnt a lot from the discussion despite having dined rather well earlier on that evening.
